Founded by Mark and Jeff Bass, known professionally as the Bass Brothers, F.B.T. Studios in Ferndale, Michigan, has long been a hub for groundbreaking music production, shaping some of the most influential records in hip-hop and beyond. With a deep history rooted in creativity and collaboration, the studio has earned its reputation for delivering high-quality sound and a personal touch to every project.

Mark and Jeff Bass’s journey began in the early 1990s when they started out as the "Funky Bass Brothers," working with iconic artists like George Clinton and producing tracks for Clinton’s P-Funk All Stars album Dope Dogs. Their work with Clinton was pivotal, but it was their discovery of a young, unknown rapper named Eminem that would catapult the Bass Brothers into music history.

In 1992, Mark Bass invited Eminem—then still known as M&M—into the studio, a moment that would forever change the trajectory of both their careers. As F.B.T. Productions, the Bass Brothers played a central role in the creation of Eminem’s debut album Infinite and continued to shape his sound throughout his rise to fame. Although Dr. Dre is often associated with Eminem’s success, the Bass Brothers produced more individual tracks for Eminem than any other producer, including hits like “Without Me,” “Beautiful,” and “Lose Yourself.” Jeff Bass's contribution to the latter earned him a Grammy Award and an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2003.

Over the years, F.B.T. Studios has grown into a full-service production facility, offering a range of services from recording, mixing, and mastering to voice-over and post-production. The Bass Brothers have maintained a hands-on approach with every project, whether they’re working with hip-hop legends, rock bands, or independent artists. Their diverse musical background and vast industry experience allow F.B.T. Studios to create unique, polished, and memorable soundtracks for all kinds of creative projects.

In addition to their studio work, the Bass Brothers are also the founders of WEB Entertainment, a record label that has signed a wide array of artists, spanning both rock and hip-hop genres. Mark and Jeff’s commitment to pushing musical boundaries continues to resonate across genres, while their involvement in both the business and creative sides of the industry keeps F.B.T. Studios at the forefront of musical innovation.

From their early collaborations with George Clinton to their defining work with Eminem, F.B.T. Studios has remained an integral part of the music industry, helping to shape the sound of modern music. Today, Mark and Jeff Bass continue to produce, innovate, and collaborate with new artists, ensuring that F.B.T. Studios remains a vital force in the world of music production.
